Independent SellersI'm using the term independent sellers to distinguish between those who do sell via auction sites and those who don't. The difference isn't exclusive. Some sellers who have their own site or blog do also sell via auction, but some don't. This page is about those who don't. WebsitesA number of sellers have built their own websites, or like me knew someone who could. Whereas an auction seller is restricted by the rules of the auction site a website seller has free rein to personalise her website as much as she likes. Unfortunately this means some sites are a complete mess but as long as all the required information is there this shouldn't reflect on the level of service. Be wary of sites that look too slick or too professional. The seller could be a professional website designer (I know a couple are) or the seller is lucky and knows someone who is (like I did) but...this is the kicker...it could also be a conman who is also a professional website designer...or knows one. Be careful. Do your research. Compare photos. Ask yourself if you've seen those photos elsewhere. Why would someone who sells used underwear for a few pennies have paid out hundreds of pounds on a professionally designed website? If the website has been designed using a free site (check the url, it will show in the address) be very wary. As I have mentioned on another page anyone who starts up an adult business using such tools hasn't done their research and their site will be pulled as soon as they have been reported to or noticed by the admin of that resource. WeblogsIf a seller hasn't got the knowledge of how to buy their own domain and hosting, and then build their own site they will start a blog. Now unless their blog is with an adult friendly blogging site they will have to abide by the rules and keep their photos quite tame. Some blogs can be manipulated and pages added so that they rival any website. Blogs are a great way for sellers to introduce themselves to the community and many sellers will read and comment on each others blogs. For a buyer this is a great way to interact with a number of sellers without having to join any forums. Many sellers also have blogs to complement their websites.
NoteWith both sites and blogs check the seller is still current. Some seller start up in a flurry of activity, promises and enthusiasm but as soon as they realise panty selling is more to do with a mutual fetish than making cash they usually disappear in a cloud of disappointment leaving their sites and blogs behind them. |
